LEATHER, ORIGINAL EYES/STUFFING, ROMNEY MARSH TOP FLEECE, THREAD.

I was asked to remake a favorite childhood toy, ET. He was originally in vinyl and had survived 40 years of love and affection. We decided to use leather in his restoration, but keep the original eyes and stuffing. After pulling him apart, i made his pattern and toiled him, to confirm the pattern worked. I then made him up, using a locally sourced romney fleece to pad him out, where the original wasn’t quite enough. It was a thoroughly enjoyable process!
